Founded in 1984, Second Skins is a privately owned, wholly South African manufacturer of sports and sun-protection wear, uniforms and promotional clothing. Specialists in the production of performance-enhancing garments made from the latest in technical fabrics. Second Skins has a proud record of quality at all levels. With operations in Southern Africa, Europe and the United States, the company has enjoyed sustained growth since 1984. Our clients include a wide range of retailers, schools, teams and corporations, and we have a proud track record of developing and manufacturing cutting-edge products for both our own and internationally recognized brands.

Our Services

We offer an extensive Made-To-Order Service [MTO] which is complemented by a wide range of fast-moving items - our Ready To Go [RTG] range - kept in stock for our customers' convenience. We have a vertically integrated manufacturing facility and manage all design, sublimation and screen printing process ourselves, ensuring strict compliance with quality standards at all levels of production. Our infrastructure is geared towards massive flexibility and quick turnarounds both of our RTG and custom-made items.

Our export market

Seconds Skins has a rapidly expanding export market. Trading as ACTIVSKINS in Europe, we export sun protection [UV Gear] to Scandinavia, Germany and the UK under our own and other brands. We benefit from a EU1 certificate, which means that our European clients are exempt from import duty on our goods.
